Located in the heart of Cape May's historic district, the Gingerbread House is less than a block from the beach and promenade and merely two blocks from the Cape May Victorian mall. Cape May's finest restaurants are also within walking distance, therefore a car is not needed when you arrive in Cape May.
Classical music is played in the parlor for the guests to enjoy. The wood burning fireplace is an enjoyment in the winter time as guests drink wine or have afternoon tea. The wicker filled front porch is a favorite gathering spot in the summer for breakfast, afternoon tea or just plain chatting with other guests, while listening to the sounds of the sea and enjoying the light ocean breezes.
The Gingerbread House offers six charming guest rooms, several with private baths. The master bedroom boasts a spacious private porch.
All of our lovely guest rooms are embellished in beautiful lace curtains. The walls are adorned with original watercolor paintings by Jane Echevarria. The large share bath on the 3rd floor is decorated in corian and handcrafted teak wood cabinetry.

Luxury Suite: (Room #1): This is our largest room that boasts a large private porch with wicker furniture accompaniment. The private bath has been renovated in corian and hand crafted teak wood cabinetry. It is decorated in hues of green and rose with lovely lace curtains, antique furnishings, 2 brass and iron double beds and an exceptional armoire original to the house. Private bath. 2nd floor. Air conditioning.
Deluxe Room (Room #2):
This beautiful and comfortable room is bright, airy and decorated in hues of beige. It boasts a beautiful marble top dresser and Victorian bed with a high headboard. Private bath. 2nd floor. Air conditioning.
Deluxe Room (Room #3):
This warm and cozy L shaped room is decorated in blue tones. A matching antique bedroom set highlights this room. The bathroom with tub has been renovated using corian and teak wood cabinetry. Private bath. 2nd floor. Air conditioning.
Standard Room (Room #4):
This warm and comfortable room is light, airy and decorated in blue and rose tones. It boasts a cathedral ceiling. It has a queen size bed, chestnut furnishings and a lovely walnut armoire. Share bath plus powder room on 1st floor. 3rd floor. Air conditioning.
Standard Room (Room #5):
This is a cozy room of medium size. The lavender and plum tones accent the Victorian walnut bedroom set. The room is adorned with a roof window. Share bath plus powder room on 1st floor. 3rd floor. Air conditioning.
Standard Room (Room #6):
This bright room of medium size is decorated in rose and pale green. . It has a Victorian bed and side-lock walnut dresser. Share bath plus powder room. 3rd floor. Air conditioning.
Breakfast:
A delicious home-baked breakfast is served every morning buffet style in the elegant dining room between 8:30am. - 10am. Guests can enjoy their breakfast in either the dining room or on the front porch.Our healthy style breakfast consists of coffee, teas, juice, homemade granola cereal, assorted yogurts, fresh seasonal sliced fruit or fruit compote and home-baked coffee cakes, muffins or cinnamon buns, and a breakfast casserole of the day.
Afternoon Tea:
Between 4pm - 5pm enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea to add pleasure to your palate. Our menu consists of hot tea in the cooler months and iced tea and lemonade during the warmer months along with homemade sweets and savories. This is a delightful time of the day to mingle with other guests and relax before dinner.

Deposit: An advance deposit is required to guarantee the reservation. 50% deposit of the total charges if more than a two-night reservation. A one-night stay requires payment in full.
Confirmation: A reservation will be confirmed via a confirmation letter when deposit is received.
Cancellations: In the event of a cancellation, the deposit less a $30 handling fee will be refunded if we are able to refill the entire vacancy. Deposits for weekends, holidays and one-night reservations are non-refundable.
Minimum Stay:Weekends - 3 night minimum stays are required from mid-June thru mid-October (some exceptions do apply). All remaining weekends require a 2 night stay. Certain holiday weekends require a 3 or 4 night stay.
Check-in time is between noon and 10:00pm.
Check-out time is 10:00am.
Policies:
- Well-behaved children over 5 years old are welcome.

- Smoking is permitted only on the outside verandas.
